Todd Paquin, LMBT

About Me/Todd Paquin, NCLMBT #6011:

I was born in October of 1966. The pictures on this web site, (with the one exception of the above picture of me practicing Ashiatsu Massage, which was taken in late '07) were all taken in early 2009. I believe my holistic (ho-lis-tic: Emphasizing the organic or functional relation between parts and the whole.) approach to life and my appreciation for living in "The Moment" are the predominant factors that allow me to be a proud-yet-humbled advocate and example of the benefit that living in this way can offer. My last name is pronounced 'PAKE-win' and comes from my French-Canadian Grandfather, who crossed the border way-back-when to reside in Masachusetts, where I was eventually born to my Father of French and Italian heritage and my Mother of German and Swedish descent. Beginning in the 4th grade and until after attending the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, I was raised in NC. While following my passion for music and playing the drums, I lived, worked and played professionally in Southern California and Las Vegas for a number of years. My education and practice in Massage and Bodywork Therapy began at The School Of Healing Arts in San Diego, CA starting in 2002. I have been practicing massage therapy and bodywork full-time since 2004. I returned to NC from CA in Dec. '05, specifically to the Triangle, to be closer to family and long-time friends, establish my own business, eventually buy some local real estate, and otherwise enjoy the many unique advantages that living in our area can provide.

I worked with much success in two area spas (La Therapie, Cary, and Healing Waters, Durham-please see "City Search" for testimonials posted regarding my work at these locations) over the first three years since returning, while steadily building my own private practice, as well as accepting a position as Massage Therapy Instructor at E.C.P.I. College in Raleigh. After two years (7/2008 - 7/2010) of helping folks at Durham's #1 Chiropractic Office (As voted by the readers of The Durham Herald 2009 - 2010), Chiropractic Partners, I decided to work out of my well-established home-office, exclusively, so that I might be able to better focus, and best serve my clients, while attending school part-time to become a Registered Nurse.

Some of my interests 'outside' of Massage/Bodywork/Holistic Health, Wellness, and Nutrition are; Yoga, Working Out, Sports (especially Swimming, Basketball, and Hockey), Nature (spending time outdoors whenever possible), and Music.

Testimonials
/In their own words:

"...I had always heard that therapeutic massage was a powerful healing modality, but never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined such an incredible result after only one treatment. The pain in my left neck and shoulder has almost completely resolved and as a concequence I already have greater range of motion. What a fantastic result!" Neil S., Cancer Researcher

"On a scale of 1 - 10, that was a 10." Pat S. (no relation to above), R.N.

"Over the years I have been to a number of massage therapists.  Each were good.  However, Todd Paquin has been the best.  His professional skills and manner, along with a genuine concern for his clients' well-being combine to make the sessions truly customized. I have an arthritic condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis.  Over just a few sessions, Todd worked with me to figure out the modality that would get the best results for me.  And he continues to adjust the body work for my specific needs.  It definitely is not an assembly line approach to massage therapy.I would recommend Todd to anyone, but I especially, and highly, recommend him to persons who may also suffer from AS." Mostly-Ashiatsu Client Madison Hankal, United Methodist Pastor

"That's how you should feel after a massage." Ashiatsu Client Vijay J., Biomedical Research Corporation Director

"I'm a business owner in my mid-50's, in very good shape, and work out regularly with a trainer. I'd always thought of massage as more of a relaxant rather than a regimen. Todd's excellent skills have proven that massage and Zen-Touch Shiatsu therapy bring their own dimensions to fitness and wellness-both physically and mentally. Todd is the ultimate professional and technician at his craft, but he's also blessed with the gift of empathy and dedication to solving "your" issues, rather than merely offering a template. As a devotee of fitness, I truly believe Todd to be a leader in bringing massage therapy to its rightful place in whole-life conditioning." David R., Financial Services Business Owner

"I don't want to say that was the best massage I've ever had...but that was the best massage I've ever had!" April K., Massage Therapist

"I have been a regular customer of massage therapy for 20 years and Todd is the best massage therapist I have ever encountered. He is fantastic with deep tissue work while at the same time creating a very relaxing massage experience. I have had chronic headaches and a nagging shoulder pain for several years, but since going to Todd on a regular basis the headaches are gone and the shoulder is improving. In addition to being a great massage therapist he is a fun, interesting, kind person...very tuned in to his clients...I love my appointments with him for the muscle work as much as being in his company." Stephanie F., Nursing Student

"That's how a massage should feel!" Ashiatsu Client Todd P. (no relation), Professional Musician

"First let me say how great I feel today and I attribute so much of that to the massage on yesterday. Again, you are very gifted and talented and I'm glad I found you..." Jeffrey S., Public Health Services Administrator and Pastor

"Todd's healing touch creates a massage that releases and relaxes the entire body from the inside out. My breast reconstruction left me with a very tight right side of my body. The scar tissue that surrounded my surgical area, neck, shoulders, mid back and hip area gave me great muscular and nerve pain. Two years of surgeries had a gripping effect, until, blessings were upon me for I found Todd Paquin, a therapist that performed a massage called Zen-Touch Shiatsu. Todd has an intuitive & respectful nature that made me feel very comfortable despite the fact that I'd never had this type of massage, but had only heard of it's therapeutic effects. Todd performed an incredible massage! I had never felt such deep relief since before the surgeries. Todd's caring Zen-Touch movements and restorative massage brought me to realize what a deeply relaxed sound sleep was like again.
Every session I look forward to my Zen-Touch Shiatsu. I know I will receive a caring and professional massage that gves me greater range of movement in my body. I highly recommend Todd because his massages will give you a relaxed and restored body, and that creates a wonderfully peaceful mind." Cindy Ann Ciccero, Qi Gong Master/Thai Yoga Therapist/Instructor

"That's just what I needed!" Lori N., Project Manager
